Dr. Speeckaert graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Spanish and minors in International Relations and Latin American Studies. She obtained a Masters in Science in Biomedical Research as well as her medical degree at Albany Medical College. She completed her Orthopedic Surgery Residency at Geisinger Medical Center prior to joining us for her Hand & Upper Extremity Fellowship. After fellowship she joined the Orthopedic practice at Crystal Run Healthcare in New York State.
   
Andrew Esterle, M.D.

Dr. Esterle completed his BS at Kent State University. He attended Northeastern Ohio Medical University for medical school and Akron General Medical School for this Orthopaedic Surgery Residency.  Dr. Esterle returned to Akron to practice at Akron General Hospital.
   
Justin Barker, MD

Dr. Barker completed a BA at the University of Utah and  4 years of medical school at the Tulane University.  Prior to joining us at the Hand and Upper Extremity Center, he did a 1 year General Surgery Internship at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center and an Orthopaedic Residency at the University of Missouri-Kansas City.  Dr. Barker will be practicing at the Rockwood Clinic in Spokane, WA.
   
Benjamin Curtis, M.D.

Dr. Ben Curtis completed his BA in Psychology at the University of Utah and continued his education there for 4 more years in medical school.  Prior to joining us at the OSU Hand and Upper Extremity Center, he completed Orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Utah. He has now returned west and joined Utah Orthopaedic Associates in Salt Lake City, Utah.
   
Michael Hwang, M.D.
Michael Hwang, M.D.
2011-2012 Hand Fellow
Dr. Hwang completed his BS at Duke University. He went to Medical School at the University of Chicago. Dr. Hwang did his residency at University of Washington/Harborview. He has completed a shoulder fellowship at Taos Orthopaedic Institute before joining us for his hand fellowship. Dr. Hwang joined the Portland Clinic after completion of his fellowship.
